Lilly Pulitzer July Try Ons
Hi everyone! Throughout the month of July, I stopped into the Lilly Pulitzer store a lot and tried things on in small groups. Instead of a lot of little posts, I decided to combine them into one big post that includes all of my try ons from just after the "Summer Remix" collection until through the pattern "Colorful Camelflage". Watch for another post soon with some August try ons!

I absolutely love this pattern - the colors are nice and vibrant in person! For anyone who doesn't know, the "Engineered" in the print name means every one of this top will have the exact same print placement and band of pattern around the bottom. Items that aren't engineered can have random different print placements. This tunic has an easy, flowy fit. If you are between sizes you could try sizing down. I did not size down, and this fit me well.
I love the regular Amina dress, so I was excited to see it come out in a maxi! The cut of this dress is a little more generous through the midsection because of the pleat in the middle of the bust area. For reference, this material isn't stretchy, and seems similar to the fabric used in regular Aminas, Marlowes, and the Red Right Return Melle. This is my normal size.
This new pink Tatum sweater is so pretty! The pink perfectly matches the new Red Right Return, among other patterns. This is my normal medium, though the sweater is stretchy so a small could maybe work in a pinch.
I love these two pieces paired together, for golf or just a regular day! The polo was a stretchier/athletic material. Like some of the other Luxletic polos, go with your normal size for a fitted look, or size up for a little more room. I'm wearing the next size up from my normal size in this picture. This skort is the same slightly stretchy athletic material as the other golf bottoms earlier this year. I love the added detail of this scallop hem! I'm wearing my regular size for Lilly Pulitzer bottoms.
This dress is a nice breezy maxi with lightweight fabric. This is my normal size. Something to note on this one is the length. I'm 5'7, and the front hit me mid-ankle. The back is slightly longer than the front. Usually even I need to have Lilly Pulitzer maxis hemmed, so this shorter length is nice. This could be a good pick for shorter ladies!
I'm not usually a fan of emerald green, but I love the fact that the Lilly designers are branching out a little bit more for this group of prints! This top of this dress is fitted, but the skirt has lots of extra fabric. This satin fabric has no give, so keep that in mind when choosing a size. If you have a larger bust, you might need to size up for more room in the top.
This new top is adorable! The lace around the arm holes and bottom adds an extra classic touch to an otherwise plain tee. In addition to this print, this top also comes in white and pale pink. The lace around the bottom has no stretch, so I sized up for a more comfortable fit. I do think that my normal size would also have worked.
This romper is a little different from some other Lilly Pulitzer rompers in that it looks like a skirt all the way around; it doesn't look like shorts from the back. I sized up, but only for extra length top to bottom (which I usually have to do for rompers).
I wasn't a huge fan of the ruffles on this top, but it *is* a nice solid match for Colorful Camelflage bottoms! The top also comes in white. The skort fit like all of my other Madison skorts.
This top was interesting - I didn't realize how much volume the sleeves have until I tried it on! This is my normal size, and it was a good fit. An interesting note - if you have issues with arm openings being too small, this would be a good top for you, since the arm openings are huge (as shown!). This top also comes in solid navy and solid peri blue.
I love that this pattern is so different from the more typical light green and pink Lilly Pulitzer patterns! I tried on my normal size, and there was a tiny bit of extra room. One thing to note - this maxi is long! I'm 5'7, and you can see in the picture that I'd either have to get it hemmed or wear tall heels with it. Unfortunately, you'd lose some of the engineered pattern at the bottom with traditional hemming. You could have fabric taken out at the top of the skirt instead, but that would be a more expensive fix.
This classic top with pearl accents could be dressed up or down. The material has no stretch. I usually size up in tops with this sort of neckline, and this one was no different. My normal size would not have fit because of my broad shoulders.
This outfit could be dressed up or down based on accessories and shoes. The top is not a very generous fit, so I sized up because of my broad shoulders. I'm between two sizes in Lilly bottoms sometimes, and the smaller size fit in these paper bag style shorts.
I really love this blue and coral pattern! The fabric of this maxi is unforgiving since it has no give/stretch. I think it's the same or similar fabric as Marlowes and the recent Melle. This is my size up - my normal size was too tight, and I like maxis to be a little bit roomier.
I really love this pattern - I wish they made more items in it! This halter top is loose through the body, with a stretchy band at the bottom. This is my normal size.
This caftan is absolutely beautiful! My weird pose in this picture is just to show the extra pattern detail on the sides. This caftan comes in the following sizes: XXS/XS, S/M, L/XL. I'm normally a medium, sometimes large, and this is the S/M. It fits, but barely. This caftan comes with a detachable nude slip underneath. In the picture, you can just barely tell where the lining ends (about mid-thigh).
I didn't try this on, but I snapped a quick picture in case anyone wanted to see this popover in real life!
